Vacancy: Junior Paralegal/administrator – media law

Junior Paralegal/administrator required. Principal role will be to provide support to a busy boutique firm in Farringdon, London, EC1 specialising in libel/privacy, regulatory and criminal/fraud work. Work will involve a mixture of administrative tasks/general office support (75%), including the collecting of DX, greeting of clients and other visitors etc, and some fee-earning (25%), principally for the firm's media law department.

In the long-term, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to undertake a higher proportion of fee-earning work if he/she demonstrates an ability to produce work of an excellent standard and develops a good working knowledge of the relevant areas of law.

Applicants should have strong communication and organisational skills. Applicants should be adept at working in a team and under pressure. Applicants should have experience of drafting correspondence, legal documentation, preparing bundles and invoices etc. Good IT skills are essential. In particular Applicants should be comfortable with the intermediate-level features of Microsoft Word (such as the tracking of documents), Excel and Outlook. The firm is committed to offering the highest level of service to its clients and the Applicant must share this ethos and adhere to the highest professional standards. A law degree (2:1+) or GDL (commendation+) is desirable. Applicants are expected to have an interest in, and understanding of, media law.
