JK Rowling's solicitors apologise over leak
Russells solicitors have 'apologised unreservedly' for accidently identifying that their client JK Rowling had written a crime novel The Cuckoo's Calling under the pseudonym 'Robert Galbraith'. The disclosure appeared in The sunday Times. It is understood that the Harry Potter author had hoped to keep her identity secret for longer. A partner at the London firm admitted revealing the author's true identity to a friend of his wife during a private conversation. Russells solicitors said in a statement that whilst the partner accepted his '...own culpability, the disclosure was made in confidence to someone he trusted implicitly. On becoming aware of the circumstances, we immediately notified JK Rowlings agent. We can confirm that this leak was not part of any marketing plan and that neither JK Rowling, her agent nor publishers were in any way involved.'
