Defamation/privacy and general civil litigation
Full-time; start October 2015
Exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer at boutique litigation firm. The successful candidate will work on defamation, privacy, harassment cases as well as more general civil litigation and regulatory matters.
Applicants should be familiar with running their own caseloads and adept at problem-solving. Applicants should be team players with strong communication and organisational skills. They should be adept at working under pressure.
Applicants should be familiar with the CPR and have experience of drafting pre-action correspondence and other legal documentation and proofing/advising clients. Specialist experience is not essential, although applicants should have a genuine interest in libel/privacy law and a desire to train and develop expertise in this field.
Good IT skills are essential. In particular, Applicants should be comfortable with the intermediate-level features of Microsoft Word (such as the tracking of documents), Excel and Outlook. The firm is well-known for its work in relation to online harassment/defamation/privacy and therefore Applicants must be familiar with the basic workings of the internet/World Wide Web.

A law degree (2:1+) or GDL (commendation+) and LPC/BPTC (commendation+) is required, together with practical civil litigation experience.
This position will ideally suit a recently qualified solicitor, but the firm will also consider applications from exceptional candidates who have yet to complete a training contract.
